Welcome to St. Peter’s CE Primary School website. St. Peter’s is a Church of England Primary School where quality of learning is our priority, enabling every pupil to achieve their full potential within a caring Christian community.

St. Peter’s school has served the children of South Weald since 1857 and it has built up a fine reputation for good all round education.

Great history, great present, great future

The school was founded by the church to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England. Being a Church Foundation we are grant aided by the Department for Education and Employment, and maintained by the Local Authority.

At St Peter's, through our unique and distinct Christian character, we aim to facilitate the broadest academic, spiritual, social and emotional growth possible for each child who passes through our school. At the core of our approach lie the Gospel values, with which we aim to permeate school life. Through a rich and broad child-centred array of experiences, we strive to develop happy, healthy and independent learners, well rounded and suitably equipped for the life ahead of them.

St Peter's School Values

Initiated through our daily collective acts of worship, children are encouraged to develop and display a range of values that the Bible paints in stories of Jesus' life. We aim to provide a rich and diverse experience for our children with the over-riding aim to guide them to understand the value of their education, in turn, allowing them to be effective, independent learners, equipped with core life skills and experiences. We aim to give our children the very best start in their learning journey, inspiring them to be inquisitive life-long learners.

Recent reviews include those by the BBC and the Daily Mail. Both of these offer a very straightforward comparison to both local education authority averages and national averages. St. Peter’s scores are enviably high in all categories, which we feel reflects the standards and dedication of the staff as well as the atmosphere created in the school as a place of learning.
