The School Governors’ curriculum aims to take into account the requirements of the National Curriculum and the school ethos.

Teachers work toward these aims by- Providing a challenging and stimulating programme of study designed to enable all pupils to reach their full potential

- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum including new strategies for literacy and numeracy

Pupils work toward these aims by- Attending school regularly
- Attending school in good health maintained by adequate diet, exercise and sleep
- Being punctual and ready to begin lessons on time
- Being organised, bringing to lessons necessary kit, taking letters home promptly and returning books regularly
- Conducting themselves in an orderly polite manner both in and out of the classroom in line with the school’s behaviour policy
- Taking an increasing responsibility for their own learning

Parents work toward these aims by- Ensuring their children attend school in good health regularly and punctually, avoiding term-time holidays
- Providing support for the discipline in the school and the teacher’s role
- Being realistic about their children’s abilities, ofering encouragement and praise for their work
- Attneding parent consultation times to discuss their children’s progress and to decide the steps forward
- Ensuring early contact with the school to discuss matters that affect the children’s progress and behaviour
- Taking a proactive role in their children’s homework
- Encouraging their children to take increasing responsibility as they progress through the school

All members of the school community (teaching staff, learning support assistants, non-teaching staff, parents, pupils and governors) work toward these aims by- Esteeming children as individuals and respecting their rights, values and beliefs

school curriculum - home/school partnership agreement |
The School operates a Home/School Partnership Agreement. The Agreement is within our induction pack and is a commitment by pupils, parents and the Headteacher to support the above aims. In the agreement, responsibilities and undertakings for the parents/guardians, the child and the school as follows:-- The Parents/Carers undertake to:
- See that the child goes to school regularly, on time and properly equipped.
- See that the child is picked up promptly at the end of the School day.
- Let the School know about any problems that might affect the child’s work or behaviour. Confidentiality will be respected.
- Support the School’s policies and guidelines for behaviour.
- Support the child in homework and other opportunities for home learning.
- Attend Parents’ Evenings and discussions about the child’s progress wherever possible.
- Encourage the child to participate fully in school life.<.li>
- The Child undertakes to:
- Come to school.
- Do the best I can and be kind to others.
- Talk to people if I am unhappy.
- Encourage my parents/carers to be involved in my learning.
- Be polite and helpful to others and look after our School environment.
- Behave in a way that enables all children to work and play without interference or harm.
- Bring the things I need every day and look after them properly.
- The School undertakes to:
- Treat the child fairly and care for him/her within a safe and well ordered environment.
- Let parents/carers know about any concerns or problems that affect thechild’s work or behaviour.
- Keep parents informed about school activities through regular letters home and notices about special events.
- Arrange Parents’ Evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms during which progress will be discussed.
- Compile and send out to parents an Annual Statement of Achievement giving an overview of the child’s performance in the National Curriculum (and Religious Education).
- Provide a balanced curriculum that incorporates tasks to be completed at home (as outlined in the School’s Policy).
- Encourage children to be independent and responsible for their possessions.
